If the Democratsthink this Health Care is so good, why doesn't the House and Senate use it? If it is good enough for the general populace, then it should be good enough for the elected elite! I do not see Rep. Elingson or Senator Klobuchar running to sign up!

50% of MN could be denied coverage? Really? "the administration has released a new analysis showing that up to 2.3 million Minnesotans could be denied health insurance due to pre-existing conditions if the law is overturned." No sensationalism there. I thought we were a more civil union now and did not play in rhetoric? Guess not.

"To be honest, if I came out here and voted not to repeal ObamaCare, there'd be a lot of people scratching their heads asking, 'Why did we send you to Congress?'" said freshman Rep. Chip Cravaack, R-Minn. ------------------------- That is a very persuasive argument Chippy. What I most admire is that you are voting to repeal something that has hardly been implemented, that when it is implemented, will insure millions more with pre-existing conditions -- and that you don;t even have a viable plan that the public could objectively compare and contrast. Your 2 years will pass quickly Chip, lets hope you have better ideas than simply voting NO.

WHAT if the gov forced everyone to buy a car, but you had to buy a Cadillac, you'd buy one. Now look at health-care, in 2014 you'll be forced to buy insurance and the option right now is to buy a Cadillic Plan - THAT'S FULL OF EXCESSIVE WASTE &wast leads to fraud - fraud leads to a lot of wasted money!!! I hope this message gets across to both sides

Absolute crock. The government would have you believe that insurance companies want to deny people coverage. How would they make any money if they deny over half of Americans coverage. This report is simply scare tactics. I have athsma and have never been denied coverage, my father is overweight and has high cholesteral and always had coverage, my step father has diabetes and never has been denied. Sebilus should be ashamed of herself for attempting to prey on people's fears. Then again she is just taking marching orders from tsar obama.

Filing a 1099 for someone who is paid by the employer is simpler than filing a W2 for an employee. Only certain entities who are paid $600. or more need to get a 1099. .... Employers usually have computer programs that can separate out these payments making it a snap to issue the 1099. ..... Small employers usually do not have many 1099's to issue so it isn't a big burden to fill out a 1099. .... Go online and look at a 1099.. It is basically name, address, Fed ID or SS# of both the employer and the payee and the amount they were paid. ... Simple. Employers need to track these expenses anyway for their own recordkeeping. .... The government uses 1099's to track payments to people and are not any different than getting a form from your bank showing the interest that we earn on our accounts. .......... Employees have to have W2's showing how much we are paid; why shouldn't individuals who use their SS# to report their earnings be required to do the same as the rest of us who use our SS#'s? ..... This also allows some who want to hide payments they receive for services they performed to avoid detection and evade taxes. .............. 1099's do not need to be issued for the majority of those who have Federal ID#'s.

I think our government workers and politicians should be arrested if they don't tell the exact unvarnished truth instead of trying to get all the power and addicting everyone to the government rolls. That is what happened to welfare.

Health insurance companies deny medical care every day for people who pay for health insurance that their doctors believe are necessary. Everyone has to have health insurance in order to avoid people waiting until they are sick to buy it since under the health care bill people cannot be denied for pre-existing illnesses. .... When all people buy health insurance the pool is made up of people at different life stages instead of just the sickest or those luckiest to have an employer who provides it as long as they have a job; health insurance is less expensive for all of us. .......... Rhetoric is the art of using language to communicate effectively and persuasively. Rhetoric isn't the problem. Uncivil rhetoric by making references to guns, gun play, or name calling is uncivil, sensationalized, and over the top rhetoric. ....... Like when Sarah Palin put cross hairs over districts of Democrats, used phrases like "don't retreat..... RELOAD!" and Bachmann talked about how people had to be "armed and dangerous". ..... Sad to say that there are people in our society who do get worked up and enraged and brought their guns to things like President Obama's Minneapolis rally on health care in 2009. When you have a gun and you wear it on your person in a safe environment, especially in full view of others, there is an intent behind that act. .... Often it is to intimidate those around you in some manner. This is also not a civil act. ........... If people wearing guns in full view at events where people don't normally have guns do not understand how this intimidates and make others around them feel threatened and uncomfortable they are simply ignorant. ..... Would you want teachers to show up at your schools and employees at your workplace wearing guns when there is a history of disgruntled people killing others at these places?

How about gsnurb's comment...it is not a particular insurance plan they are selling, so therefore this garbage about the current politicians using a different plan is irrelevant and ridiculous. You have no idea what you are talking about, so just stop. Ask questions first, and if you are really clarifying, don't frame your comments like accusations. Learn to read honest analysis of the issues, to critically analyze an argument, and if you care enough to post comments following an article in Star Tribune, gather enough facts to know the subject inside and out...symptom of a national downfall right there...
