Is Klobuchar serious? On the one hand she is backing the FDA which has completely choked off medical device innovation in the last 18 months. Now she's hosting an innovation summit? I think Amy has wreaked enough havoc on Minnesota's economy for one term.

Easy fix: start with reforming the patent system! Do away with all software and business-method patents. You can't write a line of software any more without violating hundreds, if not thousands of patents. The patent system is completely out of control...

Ya, four hours should just about do it. If you look at history I don't think anything really cutting edge has ever come out of a summit or seminar. Get real. Real innovation occurs when an entrepreneur identifies a unique need in the marketplace and works to fill it or an inventor discovers something that might be useful. Summits are public relations stunts and nothing more. If the state wants to be the Mecca for renewable energy, establish a law that doesn’t tax the profits of businesses in this sector. Oh, and make such that everything needs to be manufactured in the US. You’ll see companies beating a path into MN and a variety of jobs created, which means income taxes and a variety of other taxes will flow into MN.

Maybe Corporations should NOT outsource manufacturing to China so they can now make the very things we tought them to make - like a new stealth aircraft
