World's biggest no-brainer. Got lucky in the draft. Now, pay the price and get this done.

I agree. AP is a great player and stand up guy. None of the fears expressed about him potentially being injury prone have come to fruition and he has definitely earned a long-term contract from the Vikings. He is the cornerstone, get it done.

3 fumbles against the Saints. Well they charged 1 to Favre but it was all AP & it would have most likely secured the win. He had his chance to take the Vikings to the Super Bowl & blew it.

"It's amazing how teams want players to be committed to them, but they aren't committed to players." Really Emmet? A base salary of $11M is not a committment? If it was up to me, all salaries would be incentive based. How many times do we see the player finally get the big contract and then they go in the tank. Bernard Berrian come to mind? How about Dante Culpepper?

Emmitt Smith was a me-first player who told his teammates to give him space in the endzone after he scored TDs so the TV camera's view of him wouldn't be blocked. A me-first player that liked to take his helmet off after scoring so everyone could view his magnificent visage - until the NFL made a rule against it. Adrian Peterson would be stupid to take advice from this egomaniacal POS. Bad advice for the Vikings because of the CBA uncertainty. Bad advice for Adrian because it doesn't give him a chance to inflate his value even more on the open market.

Considering the amount of rebuilding to be done: QB, offensive line, and defensive backfield and the relatively meager success of the draft other than a few 1st round choices, the Vikes should do Adrian a favor and deal him to a team which will be competitive during the remainder of his career. Get a couple more high draft picks for him and accelerate the rebuild.

Top priority? Maybe, but as much as I love 'em, the Vikes have a ton of "top priorities" Let's start here, though!

Herschel got to take care of Herschel. And Sprewell needs to feed his family.
