And Childress believes he LEFT the Vikings in better shape than they were when he came in. Yeah, right, Mr. talent evaluator.

I like the idea. Of drafting a qb early as a #3. Move Webb to #2 and go get Kolb, Orton or mcnabb for a solid #1. That seems like a great plan.

Future looks bleak, not even worth watching next year.

Wow, what prize winning insight from the forward most thinking sportswriter on the planet today Sid Harman!!! I must thank you again Sid for clueing all us homers in on what completely passed over our heads in regards to the vikings needing a QB. Maybe you can help the organization out again by writing even more stories about Favre again this off season so that he can be coaxed back out of retirement for yet another "magical" season with the purple.

I thought the starter was going to be Tavaris Jackson? He's a great talent just ask Chilly.

Fix the O line first. Putting a rookie QB behind that line would be a waste of time.

Hey emptytrphycs, I think the point is that the HC realizes the Vikings need a starting QB, not only for one year, but long term. In the past, the HC never mentioned something even remotely close to that need. Good news in that the Twins aren't looking for Nick Punto to be a utility player on the 2011 team. Agree that they should look at their young talent and forget about Punto and move on. Enjoyed the column, Sid.
