The constant positive reinforcement and constant praise that this age group needs is exhausting for everyone, co-workers and supervisors alike. They do not take criticism or any comment remotely negative regarding their performance with any degree of humility. Additionally, forget about working independently without supervision. I can't tell you how many times I've caught the edge of a Facebook, Twitter or Google screen as they didn't Alt+Tab quick enough. Give me a 40-50 something any time.

Not only, the schools are not doing much to make this better. They rush through students and hand out degrees, yet, they have no social qualities to work as a team. Yet, they are hired because they are cheap and the rest of the 30-40s, who have the experience, have an issue getting work.

I was at church one day and the texters sitting next to me sent texts during the entire service. Please, if you don't respect God, you certainly don't respect your employer.

People, times are a changing!Yes alot of the next generation of employees have no etiquette, because the few generations before never taught them right from wrong. And yes these people are adults and should know better, but they are dumb because they were never taught common sense.Corporate America will hire the people who can just scrape by ,not do the job to the fullest.Blame coprorate Anmerica , not the people who are hired!

@ Coffeebreak8.. No i'm wayy older than that.Isnt the company's fault for hiring unintelligent kids in the first place? There are plenty of fully qualified workers these days without jobs.

Businesses can be as picky as they want in hiring these days. There is no reason to hire incompetent people regardless of age.

Balance, in your post, you said the next gen's problems are a) the fault of the prior generations, b) previous teachers who didn't teach them, c) their parents (presumably) who didn't teach them common sense and d) corporate America. I would think by their mid-20s, they should be responsible for themselves, instead of blaming others for what they are lacking.
