I was one of those initially disappointed when they announced Kill as the new head coach. He has done a lot in the short span of time to build a stable organization, recruit, and reach out to the Gophers community past and present. He lets his actions speak. I am truly looking forward to this program being turned around.

We'll see. Let's hope Maturi can stay out of the way.

Hey Ricky, do you still have the white "Z" stashed in a Mpls warehouse with "The Fog" license plates? Just askin'.

Hungan is right, this guy came in with low expectations (thanks Maturi) and has exceeded them. But even more impressive is his record. Transition years are tough but I'm hopeful for next year.

Over the past few weeks I've done a virtual 180 on my opinion of Coach Kill's selection. Everything I see points to him being not only driven, but also as focused and fundamentally solid as almost any coach could be. As was the case with Tubby's hiring, this could once again be Maturi falling *ss backwards into high cotton. Thinking maybe I will renew the tix for next year...

I'm optimistic, but it's early. Can he win the recruiting battle for the top 3 and 4 star HS players? Only time will tell, because it's the one thing he's never done before. He's at an entirely new level and for the first time has to compete with WI, IA, O St., MI, MI St., NB, etc., etc. He's got to pluck a couple very skilled players this year or next year or he'll be just another 'no name coach' who couldn't compete at this level. Good luck, Jerry.

Coach Kill will prove to be another good hire by Joel Maturi.
