The new Gophers football coach has proven in his life and career that it's foolish to underestimate him. Just don't ask him to program the VCR.

Not a lot of RAA RAA RAA, but it sounds to me like we might have a hard nosed football coach that knows what he's doing! Go Jerry Kill and I hope you bring back to Minnesota a football program we can all be proud of again. It's been a long time! Good luck, and GO GOPHERS!! dk from rochester, now in Arizona!!

Sounds like Kill is committed to his job. Now, as he warned in his press conference, we have to get the rest of the state behind the program, too. With so many sports options here, it's easy for fans to swing to the winner. The FB Gophers might have a window to pick up support with the Vikings, Wild, Timberwolves, and Gopher hockey teams all down right now. Would make for more fun every Saturday morning to awaken thinking we could win today.

My bet is he will relate to the OUTSTATE much better than anyone else has. And, relate to the swells in the Twin City area also. Bye the bye........that guy Horton is a class act. You know Kill kind of a country boy much like Grant.........instead of a Cravaak kind of like Brewster.

Hey Tarball, how about saving the political barbs for political stories. Minnesota's Liberals and Conservatives can at least share allegiance to the Gophers.

He sounds alot like Murray Warmath. He was loved by very few players when they were players. We respected, and feared him, but like was not really a term that represented most feelings. But by the end of your career and after, you did began to love the man, and when you were done, he would do anything for "One of his Boys" Today ask most of his players about "The old man" and they do use the word love and highly respected. Kill sounds scarily the same.

It looks like Maturi did a good job for once in his Minnesota career -- a man who obviously knows what it takes to win football games. He will surely need that skill with the current level to which the Gophers have sunk. Now if only some really talented, well-adjusted young men decide to join the coach in building football history (good history, that is) at the U!? Hopefully there are some top-level football players who are brave enough to sign-up as Gophers -- Coach Kill certainly was that and more!
