U.S. House passes immigrant bill; Senate should, too.
they are not undocumented! They are illegal! And since this paper wants the kids to benefit from their parents actions I guess they would say it's okay for criminals who rob banks and mob members for their kids to keep the proceeds. After all they did that to make their kids lives better!
No, send all illegals home and make them do it the right way. This is nothing more than a backdoor to citizenship. NO NATION in the world other than ours ALLOWS anchor babies. GET RID OF ALL ILLEGALS NOW.
Congress should simply adjourn and let any future legislation, especially legislation of this magnitude, be debated by those we recently elected to represent us. Republicans in the Senate should continue to block every bill, including those dealing with taxes, until they are given the opportunity to vote on a bill that proposes nothing other than keeping tax rates where they are right now.
The DREAM act is a horrible piece of legislation that needs to go down. Is it possible for the Strib to EVER print an editorial giving the case against the DREAM act? Or does every single member of your team march to the same lockstep?
We are not founding a new nation! It is established and we have laws. These people broke the law. All this is, is a play by Democrats to get votes. Period. If you grant them amnesty I say they can't vote for 20 years.
Democrats don't care about Hispanics, they care about the Hispanic vote. Democrats want Hispanics to leave the Catholic Church for the Democrat Church.
The first mistake is referring to these people using the euphemistic description of "undocumented immigrants". They are not. They are trespassers. The second mistake is trying to make this some kind of race issue. It is not. Trespassing laws apply equally regardless of race. If I come home and find that some family has broken into my house and is now helping themselves to my food, clothing, and tv they should not and will not be treated as "undocumented family members" nor would my actions in removing them have anything to do with race. Neither will I be impressed by any argument that they served honorably as a soldier or went to school for 2 years. Anyone who feels that these people or their family who enter our country illegally are being mistreated by being forced to return to their actual home should feel obliged to personally sponsor them and take them into their own homes and pay for their schooling, housing, medical bills, insurance, and the other things necessary to make them feel like real citizens but there's no justification in foisting them on the community under the nonsensical idea that their removal constitutes an act of indecency.
You guys realize that the DREAM act isn't about helping anyone who broke the law, right?
Go try the same thing in Mexico and let me know how it works for you.
It's not only Mexicans,we have many eastern Europeans,Africans and British illegals all around us. Ship them all back and they can DREAM about getting here legally!
