Weber leaves U with no regrets

Given all that Adam Weber has been through in five years with the Gophers, a lesser person might have packed it in or voiced regrets. But that's not him.

You have to have a lot of respect for Adam Weber. He hung in there during some tough times. I'd take his heart over Tebow or any of the other media darling, prima donnas that play QB on star-laden teams. I'm sure he will do well in life.

He learned more on the field than a classroom could teach!! He'll do well.

A lot of respect for Adam. Way to show how a true leader and winner acts! Many pro's could take that lesson from you.

Way to go Adam. Thank you for becoming a Gopher and dedicating 5 years to the program. I have been a true Gopher FB fan since 1949 when I was 8. You are third on my list of all-time Gopher great QBs after Sandy Stephens and Ricky Foggie, If Mason would have been your coach for the entire time, the sky would have been the limit. Too bad there were not more Eric Deckers to throw to.

Great article. Weber is a good-solid kid and a decent player. He's a leader, he has a business degree from a great university and will be very successful in life. He has some good stats, but the stats are sopmewhat meaningless becavuse he lost 35 games in four years, and I bet that's an all-time college record for most losses in a career for a starting QB.

Adam Weber may be a solid kid and he's done a nice job with kids in the community..but he is NOT a winner..he referred to all the big games he's one as a Gopher..ah Adam...really? which ones were those again? I really hope he has a nice life after graduating but for anyone to suggest that he did a great job as a U of M QB for 5 yrs and should be remembered as one of the greats..well that's just not going to happen..the minute he leaves I will have forgotten him and I'm trying to forget the miserable 5 seasons that he played at the U.

On Senior Day even the most cynical people have to look at the young men and not just their uniform or wins & losses. Adam Weber has been a stand-up guy taking the fall for ineffective offensive coaches and young receivers running the wrong routes and dropping passes. There are many similarities between Jake Locker at Washington and Adam Weber not the least of which is their college careers didn't turn out as they dreamt. While Locker is revered in Seattle, Weber has never gotten the credit he deserves for his determination, positive attitude and leadership. Senior Day should be his time to be recognized by the Gopher fans.

Adam Weber will be missed more than he could know. The Gopher's were lucky to have him and I really hope he get's a chance to play at the next level. Think about what his stats may have looked like had he decided to play for a winning program stacked with talented receivers. I wouldn't mind seeing him don the purple and gold! Good luck Adam and thanks for the effort and the memories. Go get that pig today! Go Gophers!

yeah! thanks for writing from this perspective. Anyone living in the real world knows that the scoreboard does not always tell the true story.
