Poacher nabbed after posting kills on Facebook

A 20-year-old Ham Lake man faces nearly $2,000 in fines and restitution for recently poaching two bucks and shooting an over-limit of Canada geese -- and then posting his exploits on his Facebook page.

No sympathy for this guy as rules are rules. With the seeming overpopulation of Canada Geese, however, am wondering if the bag limit of 3 is too low?

I don't think the geese taken by hunters are the problem geese. They are migrants. We have to share those with the rest of the states in the flyway. I think we should have another goose season earlier in the year in the metro area. It would be a 'take by hand' season. Meaning, if you can catch a goose by hand, you can keep it. License required of course. I think it would lower the number of problem geese.

they were able to free the wolf. hard to hear of these guys caught in a trap and interesting to learn of their attitude when help arrives
