Maybe it's time for NoDak to cap the number of duck licenses to about 5,000 nonresidents and run a lottery like SoDak. Rather than MN suing for more access, maybe MN hunters should lobby for restricted nonresident access to improve the experience.

Look elsewhere...ND is a big state with lots of water. Did great two weeks ago, going back this weekend, and I didn't drive in as far as Klein did. Where we went, the locals are helpful, they want you to shoot the ducks and geese out of their fields; local farmers think ducks and geese are eating all the grain. Locals pulled up plats for us, bought us beers at the bar, invited us over for cinnamon rolls, directed us to new places to try. They can't figure out why we come all that way for ducks, especially from a state with 10,000 lakes. Dang friendly folks.

Maybe its time for Minnesota to have the first week of fishing to resident anglers only. Then charge 100 bucks for a non resident license good for two 7 day periods.
