The Nashville trio now rules the pop charts, too. Not bad for a band on its first tour as headliners.

That they don't understand the implications of their band name tells you all you need to know about the spiritual depth of their music.

so why on earth would they choose the name? Wiki reference: On the BBC Radio 2 Drivetime Show on the 9 of August 2010, the band explained to the host, Lisa Tarbuck, that the name Antebellum comes from when the group were photographing "antebellum" homes. The antebellum architectural style (antebellum meaning 'pre-war') describes the large plantation homes in the American South. While photographing the houses one of the group said that there's a great band name in there, and they adopted the Lady Antebellum name shortly after.

You are part of the problem in reading too much into stuff like this. It is just a name and does not endorse slavery, oppression, or anything else. As long as we continue to let words hurt us (regardless of the speaker's intention), we will suffer to live in the past. You need to listen to some old Lenny Bruce material and FREE YOUR MIND!

And another demographic remembers the blood it took to create beautiful things like the "antebellum" homes. Who lived in those homes when they were created? Not the people who likely built them.
