It's evident that the Gophers will be needing a new football coach. Why should they wait until season's end to kick off their search?

Fire Maturi first, let Brewster finish the season, then fire him. Have a search committee get started on both an AD and a new football coach as soon as possible. Any reasonable person knows Brewster will not be back.

almost everything in this article. Brewster must go, for sure, Maturi must not have any input on the hiring of the next coach. But I'm not sure about bring Mason in, even as an interim coach. But he would be infinitely better than Brewster and his blowing smoke up people's A----saying the program is better than when he took over.

That sums it up.

I would love to have Mas back but I don't think he is interested as he has state numerous times on Kfan

I agree. Both should go. It is time that Minnesotans have a coach and a team to get fired up about. Compare our lethargy to the excitement the southern schools generate. There is no doubt that there is a small college coach out there who has proven ability in coaching who would love to break into the BiG Ten. Find some high level alumni committee and they will get the job done.

Can't be any worse and just might be a genius coach

I don't disagree with the necessity to get rid of Brewster, but I despise the one delivering the story. Souhan's only job seems to be to cajole, irritate, deride and condemn people who are in general much more successful in life than he. Here he has rewritten his prior history of trampling all over Glenn Mason's reputation, who he previously referred to as the "second-most smug and underachieving football coach" ever at the U of M. Stick by your guns and quit reinventing your opinions just to sell a fish-wrap Souhan.

I agree with all that has been written about Brewster. I'm glad to see that Maturi is also under fire now. I didn't understand why he didn't catch flack for the way the Royce White situation was handled. The best recruit in recent history and he never gets a chance to play even though he has never been proven guilty of anything. Heck, at many big time schools he wouldn't have missed a minute of playing time.

The powers to be need to get rid of Brewster ASAP to help with recruiting. Potential recruits need to see that serious efforts are being taken to turn this program around. Who in their right mind would want to play for this clown?

Why would Mason even want to come back to The Gophers the fans bashed him just has much as Brewter !! Mason has a great job I don't think he would be interested !
