Twins' troubles grow when you add in Senators' past.
They're already spooked. Didn't Tom Kelly regularly beat the Yankees?
Kelly did beat them during the regular season. He benefited from managing during a relative down period for the bombers. The reason the Twins keep losing to these guys is mainly because they have a better roster. I don't fear the 'Yankees' as much as I do Sabathia, A-rod, Tex, and Jeter
Thanks for the historical perspective.
As much as I respect Reusse's writing ability, his analysis leaves something to be desired. If he's down on the Twin's chances, that in all likelihood means they are going to sweep the series. Was it two months ago he proclaimed the Vikings SuperBowl champs? They will be lucky to make the playoffs.
How many Twins players woke up this morning wearing wet pajamas? We've all seen how this plays out....yawn.
how about you shut the hell up. GO TWINS!
The opening game and we have to hear about the Mayflower and the pilgrims? This is NOT the time to haul out the "History of the Minnesota Twins." What a yawner.
instead of booing mightily when the Yankees are announced, I think it would be awesome if the crowd was just dead silent. I think that would play with their heads a little bit. I think they feed off of all the booing. Now indifference...they might have trouble with that.
Nice piece, PR. I think this really enhances the legacy and tradition of baseball in general, and our Twins in particular. Good timing, too, Our 87 and 91 titles reversed that old tradition for a while(even if we didn't have to beat the Yanks those years); now it is time to do so again. Win Twins!
I hate when we're in any kind of playoffs because it's so stressful. You want your team to win so bad. When they do, the fans are high as a kite....when they loose...it's like death! I can't take it...YOU'RE OTTA HERE YANKEES...WE'RE GONNA WIN THIS!!
