Circumcisions are on the wane, due in part to changing cultural mores, but not as much as a recent national report suggests.

hem it up? Then, later in life, if you change your mind, you can let it back down...

Some problems really can occur. Allergic reactions or sensitivities to disposable diapers or wash soaps can cause repeated infections. Having a 6-year-old circumcised is much more traumatic than for a baby. We've gone both ways, and still don't know which would be best for any given child.

One of my sons is all-natural and plays football. When the guys noticed that he was different, they didn't tease him at all. My son came home and said that he felt sorry for his buddies because they were all sad and upset to learn that they had been cut at birth without having any choice in the matter.

I think the choice should be left up to the person who owns the genitals.

It's not the parents penis...it's the childs. It should be a personal choice NOT a parental one. We don't own our childs body parts. And what a load of crap this article gives for reasons why circumcision should be done. Penile cancer is more rare then male breast cancer, baby girls have more chance of getting a UTI then an intact boy, STDs...condoms! Parents need to do their research and stop mutilating their babies! Luckily the rates are going down...as of 2009, the circ rate in America (the only country still doing this) was 33%! Back in 2004 when I had my son, it was 60%. It's sad because not many Americans know anything about the foreskin and why it's there. Everyone thinks it's a useless piece of skin...wrong, it's there for many reasons. PLEASE stop mutilating and research. Parents research crib bedding more then removing normal functional parts of their kids. :( For those who say it looks better....then I hope you're circumcised if you think this, if not, then go get it done....but why force YOUR sexual preference on your son?? :/

That's simply how I view it. If there wasn't a reason for the foreskin, why is it there? Why not cut off breasts because they're not necessary to live because there may or may not be problems with them down the road? Circumcision is simply wrong to do unless it's truly medically necessary (which is rare). Even for religious reasons it's wrong.

That is reason enough to have the procedure done.
