How about introducing a bill that targets bad actors in the entertainment industry?

That would do well anyway at the box office. Plus you would want to also target all the bad screen writers, directors, set designers, costume designers, etc.

Chaos would ensue.

Increasing inspections adds such high cost to the small producer, that they can not pay it. An example already in place is locally grown chickens in Minnesota are supposed to be USDA inspected even if you sell just one. Wisconsin allows small producers an exemption, up to 2,000 birds. The big boys like it this way because you can not pay for an inspector with such small production. And finally, wasn't it the CDC that was certain we were all going to die from Swine Flu and Avian Flu? Didn't happen last year.

I wonder what the CDC thinks of this? What do they recommend? After all, they're the ones who study disease outbreaks for a living. fromupnort, you're complaining about what life is like in the rest of the world. They don't have any controls, and people die regularly from food borne diseases as a result. Ever noticed China? They don't have controls on their businesses, and we get tainted food and toys from them all the time. I realize you want to help small businesses, but where food safety is concerned, this is the kind of thing we honestly need. Dunno about you, but I liken this to the equivalent of paying for the police. You want safety? You gotta cough up the dough necessary for their salaries. Think about it.
