Minnesota is dead last in the Big Ten in football spending, and that makes it hard to be competitive.

Come on Sid, remember the Seahawks a few years ago that tried to buy a Super Bowl win? How low can you go? Brewster is a lousy coach, face it.

Brewster has proven in his time here that he is an awful coach. He has a great idea of what to do,but cant get it done.Fire him now. Also, Wilf should do the same to Chilly before its gets any worse.Put Frazier in charge and this team will be a winner.

I'm no Sid Hartman apologist... and I don't always agree with him (like in this column). But to say he's the "Tim Brewster" of columnists is just lame. Sid has a track record as one of the greatest sports writers in the country. I hope I'm able to look back at his age and know I've done as well in my career as he has. Don't be one of the countless anonymous dopes that makes himself feel better by ripping on someone else online.

That's a B.S. excuse and I'll tell you why. Our neighbors to the east (Wisconsin) stunk in football in the late 80s. They bring in Barry Alvarez and he went 1-10 in his first. But with no budget, and no big national recruits, Barry went 5-6, 5-6, and then 10-1-1 and a Rose Bowl victory. Low budgets did not keep Glen Mason from winning here. Yeah he didn't a Big Ten title, but he brought respectability to the program. He developed recruits into stars..and for the most part, Mason beat teams he was supposed to beat. Those teams would have never lost to NDSU, USD, etc..Brewster may be able to recruit, but he can't coach..period! A low budget does not make you a bad coach!
