Bill would amend anti-bullying law

...This will end badly.
more oversight and budget money for public education...
I feel much better about my kids' chances now that they government has passed legislation to prevent bullying. I'm sure school bullies will step in line immediately. Now if only the state could pass legislation banning nightmares and bed wetting, parents around Minnesota would rejoice.....
Get a big wooden paddle...problem solved. Oh I forgot, we are so much more "enlightened" now, how's that working for us? When I was in school (before our enlightenment) we had rules and a paddle and no bullying, well...not more than once anyway.
I guess neither of you know what it's like to be gay and bullied in school. The "backup" of state law will help many students and families and force administrators to take their heads out from the sand. Don't be so ignorant and dismissing of this legislation which could help prevent suicides and despair.
Downfall of this country will be the lawyers and the demise of common sense and decency.
So bullying was legal before ?!? I suppose now it's also going to be 'legal' to "squeal" on bullies also - sure, that'll stop all bullying and intimidation ("...or I'll find you after school and I'll ... if you tell"). It sure seems like this is a redundant law... Was it hard to enforce before ? These are the folks teaching our kids (looking for laws to outlaw illegal activity...)?!?
Those jackasses in St. Paul have nothing better to do than come up with this dribble. This is the perfect example of why we only need half as big a legislature that should only meet half as often and be paid half as much.
Why do we need a bill specifically for the protection of personal characteristics such as sexual orientation, race, or religion? How about a bill that just protects all and provides all students an environment free of bullying? Notice that it's Outfront Minnesota, a GLBT organization, that is pushing this. They want special treatment for GLBT students and throw in race and religion as token ridealongs.
Kids should be taught boxing in gym class.
